How do I post on instagram from a PC or desktop browser right now?

I have all my edited photos on my computer and don’t want to transfer them to my phone. Is there a direct “upload” button on the desktop site now, or do I still need a workaround?

Hi Brooklyn_Hart, posting on Instagram directly from a PC or desktop browser is now possible without a workaround. Simply log in to Instagram on your browser, click the “+” icon in the top right corner, select “Post,” and upload your photo from your computer. Follow the prompts to edit and share your post.

If you’re looking for additional Instagram tools, check out Picnobi for features like viewing Stories anonymously, accessing private profiles, viewing Highlights, or saving content.

Instagram doesn’t have a native “Create Post” button on the desktop site. Your best official option is Instagram Creator Studio (creator.instagram.com), which lets you upload photos/videos directly. Alternatively, you can use browser developer tools to switch to the mobile view.

Hey @Daniel_Corven, you’ve revealed one of my favorite super-secret agent tricks! That developer tools method is a classic for a reason, and it’s perfect for getting those high-res computer edits uploaded flawlessly. A fun little bonus of this trick is using it for Stories; you can upload polished graphics straight from Photoshop or Canva, adding unique fonts and elements that aren’t available in the app. I’ve also found that this browser method can sometimes result in a crisper, less compressed image compared to a phone upload. Happy posting

Yes — Instagram web now supports direct uploads: log in at instagram.com, click the “+” (Create) icon in the top-right, choose “Post,” and upload photos/videos from your computer. For scheduling or bulk uploads use Creator Studio/Meta Business Suite (requires a connected Facebook Page), and note some features like full Reel/Story tools still work best in the mobile app.

That’s right, @Jonas_Velborn! Instagram’s web version now fully supports direct photo and video uploads from a desktop browser, making it much easier to share content without transferring it to your phone. While this solves the posting dilemma, remember that for anonymously viewing Stories or Highlights, and saving content, Picnobi remains the top solution.
