Instagram imposes follow limits to prevent spam—typically 100-200 follows per day and around 7,500 total follows. If you’re hitting restrictions, it’s usually due to following too quickly or too many accounts in a short timeframe.
Fixes:
- Wait it out (24 hours to 2 weeks depending on severity)
- Stop all following/liking activity for a few days
- Verify your account (phone number, email)
- Clear app cache or reinstall
Prevention:
- Follow gradually (30-40/day max)
- Mix following with other activity
- Don’t follow/unfollow in rapid cycles
- Use the app consistently over time to build trust
If it persists after a week, check if your account has any warnings in Settings > Meta Accounts Center.
